You don’t need me to tell you that we live in a competitive world. Back in the day (25+ years ago now!) when I started my business it was so much harder to look good.

In those days you needed to hire a ton of experts to help you create an awesome brand. Fast forward to now and the playing field has been well and truly levelled.

Today, even the most mediocre businesses can look like a global empire. It is possible to set yourself up in less than 24 hours with an amazing website.

Not to mention publisher-quality graphics, great copy and videos that look like studio productions. And you can do all this for a fraction of the price you used to pay.

But great branding and marketing alone is not enough.

Long-term success requires your products and services to deliver actual results. Your customer experience must also be rave-worthy. If it isn’t, your customers become one-hit wonders. They will neither give you testimonials or refer you to their family and friends. And both are essential for long-term success.

The real key to success is to find the ‘magic” in your products, services, and business. In fact, the money (the high profits) lies in this “magic”.

Successful businesses understand this. They know their “magic” and they focus on making their “magic” even more magical. They are specialists committed to being the best they can be at delivering a specific outcome.

Here’s the truth of the matter.

You may be good at lots of things.

You may be great at a handful of things.

But if you can find the things that you are “magical” at and focus on that, your results will soar.

So how do you find your “magic”?

Well, this can be easier said than done.

The first problem is that many people don’t recognise their “magic.” They have unconscious levels of competence around it. To them it doesn’t feel magical.

And because they don’t recognise their magic, many undervalue it. Worse still, they give it away for free.

So what should you do?

It can be tricky to see your own “magic”. I needed the intervention of a Mentor before I finally realised what my “magic” was.

I recommend that you start by asking yourself a few questions.

· What are you exquisite at?

· What outcome can you help your clients to achieve?

· Where do you have a track record of success?

· What are some of the best results you have achieved for your clients?

· What systems, processes or methodologies do you have mastery of?

Success leaves clues. So it’s a great idea to ask your past clients or review your testimonials. It wasn’t until I asked a few clients that I had my own “aha” moment.

I sent them emails asking them what the outcome of our work together was. They all told me the same thing…

“You helped me to make more money and work less hours to achieve it.”

That’s when the real penny dropped for me. I had been marketing myself as a generalist. I needed to redesign my offerings and market positioning. And when I did it made a massive difference to my business.

So if you are unclear about your “magic” I urge you to take some time out to reflect.

☑ Find your magic.

☑ Use your magic to solve your client’s problems.

☑ And package your “magic” into amazing products and services.

This is the path to getting paid what you deserve. The money is in your “magic”.
