Why Your Business Strategy Should Fit Your Behavioural Profile

You don’t need to become someone else. You need a strategy built for who you already are.

For the last couple of years, the best coaching work I do has started somewhere people don’t expect — with your behavioural profile.

The core idea

Whether you use DISC, Myers-Briggs or Wealth Dynamics, these tools tell you more about who you are — and who you’re not. I’m a big believer in knowing your weaknesses, but playing to your strengths.

So a lot of the work we do with clients begins by profiling them.

That tells us the best way for them to manage their time, the best way to lead their team, which strengths to lean on, which weaknesses to work around — even which apps and programs will suit them, and which never will.

Because it’s about optimising you as a leader.

Rather than trying to get better at every single skill when you’re a square peg in a round hole, it’s about knowing what kind of square peg you are, and what you need to move forward.

It isn’t about changing who you are. Sometimes it’s learning a skill — but at our essence, we are who we are.

That’s also why generic teaching and generic coaching only ever works for a proportion of people — the ones whose profile happens to fit the solution on the table.

So we spend a lot of time customising the strategy to the person in front of us. It’s a real game changer.
